MIDDLETOWN —

The annual farmer's market will begin Friday and be held every Friday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. on the sidewalk near Main and Liberty streets.

The farmer's market this year will also feature three special events on Tuesdays, July 19, Aug. 9 and Sept. 20, from 4 to 8 p.m. with live music.

The market is sponsored by the North End Action Team.

Izzi Greenberg, director of the North End Team, said the farmer's market will participate in the food stamp, Women, Infants and Children and the Senior Citizen Farmer's Market Nutrition programs. The team will match up to $60 at the market for anyone using those programs.

"We wanted to increase access to fresh food and make it affordable for people in the whole region," Greenberg said. "There's a wide range of prices."
